ǿմý (ǿմý) and the Communication University of China (CUC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU),establishinga new academic partnership aimed at advancing media and creative education across Vietnam and China.
Where British Standards Meet Chinese Media Excellence
Underthe MoU, the two institutions will collaborate across five key areas: faculty and student exchanges, coorganisation of academic conferences, exchange of scholarly publications and teaching materials, and reciprocal leadership visits to review progress and explore new directions.
Known as the “cradle of media talent”, CUC is one of China’s most prestigious universities, with leading strengths in journalism, broadcasting, television and digital content. As a key university under China’s Project 211 and Project 985 – strategic national initiatives to build world-class institutions – CUC brings a depth of academic expertise and an extensive regional network that makes this partnership particularly significant.
ThispartnershipholdssignificantimportanceforbothǿմýandCUC, as it reflects a shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and international education.
For ǿմý, the partnership with CUC opens new academic horizons in media, communicationsand creative industries–fields that sit at the heart of ǿմý’s growing strengths.Recently, ǿմý was ranked among the world’s top 200 universities for Art and Design in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, a recognition that underscores the university’s ambition to be a serious academic destination not just for business and technology, but for the creative disciplines shaping the digital age. This collaboration with one of China’s foremost media institutions takes that ambition further.
ProfessorRickBennett,VicePresidentofǿմý,said:“CUC’s reputation as China’s foremost institution for media and communications is well established, and it speaks directly to where ǿմý is heading. Our recent recognition in the QS World University Rankings for Art and Design reflects our growing ambition in the creative disciplines, and partnering with an institution of CUC’s calibre accelerates that journey. We believe the students who will shape the next decade, in media, digital content, communications and beyond, will benefit enormously from having access to both a British academic foundation and the depth of expertise that CUC brings.”
For CUC, the partnership offers a meaningful gateway into Southeast Asia’s most dynamic higher education market, and access to a growing community of high potential students and academics in Vietnam, at a moment when the region’s creative and digital industries are expanding rapidly.
“The comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam has been deepening, and higher education cooperation has ushered in new development opportunities,” shared Mr. Chai Jianping, Vice President ofCUC.“It is hoped that the signing of this memorandum of cooperation will be used as an opportunity to promote joint talent training, people-to-people exchanges and scientific research cooperation between the twouniversities, andhelp the common development of the region.”
